Festival season is upon us. As people start gathering their necessities for the upcoming music festivals, including Coachella, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Governer's Ball, EDC, and more, vapers tend to be confused about what they can or can't bring.
While the rules are more lenient for cigarettes, bringing a vape provides a few more challenges.
Many venues, including Coachella, have pretty strict guidelines. Taken directly from their site:
So that means that box mod you just picked up won't be allowed into the venue. That new bottle of vape juice? You'll have to leave it back at the hotel, campsite, or AirBnb.
Some festivals are more forgiving, but it is always good to first check out their official website for the rules. If there are still questions left unanswered, it is best to contact their customer support team for more guidance.
Now most people will probably reach for a JUUL because it is simple, well known, and you can usually bring pods into the venue. The drawback to the JUUL, however, would be the battery life of the device.
The best option if you're bringing a JUUL is to make sure you have a second JUUL on hand. The proprietary charger makes it a difficult device to charge. You could otherwise opt for a 3rd party charging solution.
For folks who are looking to move away from the JUUL, or use a different device, we will take a look at the options.
The first option you should consider is a pod vape that provides a strong alternative to the JUUL. We have put together a collection of devices we have personally tested at different events that meet different requirements.
We typically look for the following features:

SV Mi-Pod The Mi-Pod by Smoking Vapor is a beautiful stylish portable pod system vape device. The Mi-Pod utilizes a 2ml refillable cartridge and a 950mAh battery for extended usage. |

SMOK Nord For the past few years the SMOK brand has become a one of the most popular vape device manufacturers. The SMOK (Smoktech) Nord is a pod based device that packs a punch and will treat your taste buds to some of the best vaping you could experience. |

Aspire Breeze 2 The Breeze 2 is the successor to the very popular first version of the device by Aspire. The Breeze 2 features a 2ml pod and a 1000mAh battery while keeping its U-tech coil technology giving users a rich and flavorful vaping experience. |

Suorin Air The Suorin Air Starter Kit is a super slim ultra portable pod system that matches a 400 mAh rechargeable battery to a 2ml capacity e-juice cartridge. |

SMOK MICO The SMOK Mico provides a compact device with enough battery life to last those longer vaping sessions. With the different options of coils available, vapers can fine tune their experience for more vapor or flavor production. |

KandyPens Rubi The KandyPens Rubi is probably the most similar device on this list to the JUUL. The Rubi is a phenomenal device that has proven to work with any type of vape juice you may prefer. The side fill slot also helps avoid problems with leakage. |

Boulder Rock The Boulder Rock is the most economical choice on this list. Because the device and pods are much cheaper than the JUUL, the Boulder Rock has become a favorite pod mod for vapers who are on a tighter budget, or would rather use their funds on juices.

Suorin Edge The Suorin Edge is a sleek device that is aiming to dethrone the JUUL with more features, like a replaceable battery and refillable cartridges. While the device just entered the market, there is a lot of excitement from the community for this device. |
There are other contenders that we have tested, like the OVNS JC01 and SMOK NOVO that have done the trick, but again, the listed devices are our preferred.
You may choose a more expensive device like the Lost Vape Orion DNA Go or the YiHi SXmini Mi Class, but the potential for losing the device makes it a liability when you've indulged a bit too much in your drink of choice.
Some festivals actually allow you to bring in a box mod onto the music grounds. If you are a sub-ohm vaper, we would still recommend something like a SMOK Stick so you don't have to carry extra 18650 batteries.
We'd recommend a disposable tank as well if you are still barred from bringing extra e-liquid.
The last category of vapes we'll cover are disposable vape devices like the STIG or MOJO. These can be perfect for people who tend to lose things or want the convenience of using and trashing (in an actual trash can) a vape.
If you're willing to move past using a basic JUUL or disposable device, your options really open up. Take a few extra devices in case you lose one, and just go and have fun. The festival is more about the music, and don't worry so much about your vape.
Just remember to bring these items:
Lastly, stay hydrated! Have fun, and let us know if you have any other recommendations or tips below.
